Over 500 years ago, a group of Intrepid Portuguese seamen leadered by João Gonçalves Zarco came ashore at Porto Santo and Madeira. They were those who started the Madeiran saga by exploring and populating an archipelago in times of discovery but also of courage to face the unknown, and will on its conquest.
